Having worked for over 10 years in music retail aiding string teachers and students from Rock Hill to Atlanta, Joyce Miller recognized the need for a centrally located shop in the Upstate specializing in string instruments. She asked Alex Spainhour, who has over 35 years of experience in string instruments, to be her business partner; and together, they opened Bernhardt House of Violins in August 2003.
After seven years at 10 Howe Street in Greenville’s West End, Bernhardt House of Violins purchased 5 Cateechee Avenue, which provides more room for our customers to browse our expanding inventory of instruments, accessories, and music, as well as house our repair shop in a separate building.
Bernhardt House of Violins has now been providing musicians, teachers, and students quality string instruments, repair and accessories for 15 years and counting.
